50 g Bacon
1 tablespoon butter
1 shallot
1 garlic clove
3 fresh sage leaves
200 g potato gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
100 ml heavy cream
2 handfuls grated mozzarella
1 handful grated parmesan
Salt and black pepper to taste
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C.
Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions, drain them, and set aside. Fry the bacon in the gratin pan until crispy. Then remove it and let it drain on a paper towel. Leave the fat in the pan.
4. Add the butter, let it melt, then add the finely chopped shallot. Fry slowly for about 4 minutes. Add the chopped garlic and fry for another minute so it doesn't burn. Add the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, chopped sage, salt, and pepper to the pan and heat briefly.
3. Add the fried bacon and stir it into the pumpkin sauce. Mix the cooked gnocchi with the pumpkin sauce and smooth the surface.
4. Sprinkle with grated mozzarella and parmesan. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese melts and the top turns golden brown.
5. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes after removing it from the oven, then serve.
